Bembridge Beach on a Summer’s day, the tide is going out and there are people enjoying themselves on the shore, I like painting on the beach while watching the world go by.

This next painting was done on a freezing December afternoon on Ducie beach, the north easterly wind whipped around my fingers and so this sketch is quite brief, nothing too polished and polite when you just want to swear at the English Channel and pack up! I tried to be resilient. Often with good weather painting just becomes too comfortable!

A change of sea with a quick leap over to the Mediterranean. There were big waves at this beach. The next two paintings are of the same beach near Bonassola which is next door to Levanto. It is a small rocky beach and it is me and my family’s favourite.

Tellaro, a lovely fishing village behind Lerici, really pretty and I hope to go back soon. The church was painted in contro-luce.

Tino is a small island off the coast of Portovenere, it has a famous lighthouse and this was painted from a sketch I did from Lerici over looking the bay of La Spezia, it is just along the horizon on the right from Tellaro.

I have more paintings to post while working towards an exhibition, if you would like to commission any work please contact me ABOUT
